Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make an appointment?

Please call us on 0498 197 180. If our phone is unattended leave a voicemail and we’ll return your call as soon as we can. If you’re a new client we’ll ask for a few details during the call. If you’re unable to call us you’re welcome to email us at or fill out our contact form.

How do online sessions work?

Most of our clients choose to do their sessions with a video call over Zoom. This means we're able to see one another for your session. Zoom can be used on your computer, tablet, or phone.

We will email you a Zoom link the day before your appointment. All you'll need to do is click on the link just before the start of your session. If you haven't used Zoom before and would like some help to set it up you're welcome to call us and we'll be happy to guide you.

It's important that you have a private place for your session where you feel comfortable to speak openly without concern about being disturbed or overhead. Some of our clients who don't have privacy during their work day choose to do their sessions in the car.

If Zoom isn't an option for you we can also do sessions over the phone.

Do I need a referral?

No, a referral isn't necessary to see a psychologist.

Some people who see Graeme choose to get a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) from their GP which allows them to receive a Medicare rebate.

Can I get a rebate?

If you have a MHTP from your GP you are eligible for a rebate from Medicare for the number of sessions allocated in the Plan. From 1 July 2023 the rebate is $137.05 for each session. If you provide us with your bank account details we will lodge your Medicare claim for you.

If you have private health insurance for psychological services you may also be eligible for a rebate. You'll need to check this directly with your health insurer.

If you have a MHTP and private health insurance you can make a claim from either Medicare OR your private health insurer - not both.

How do I get a Mental Health Treatment Plan?

You’ll need to make an appointment with your General Practitioner to discuss your challenges and issues.

If appropriate, your doctor will prepare a MHTP and referral for you which will entitle you to Medicare rebates.

Please email the Plan and referral letter before your first appointment to, or send it via fax to 08 8311 1766.

What is the cost of an appointment?

Sessions for psychological therapy with Graeme are $250.

We do not offer concessions or bulk bill.

How long is an appointment?

Graeme's appointments are 50 minutes.

Can I use my private health insurance?

Most healthcare funds with high level extras provide a rebate for psychological therapy.

You’ll need to check this and process your claim directly with your fund.

If you have other questions you're welcome to be in touch with us for more information.
